Rwanda's U-23 soccer team faces Morocco away in Rabat, in the road to the qualifier of the 2008 Beijing Games. The match kicks off at 5pm at Mohammed V stadium. The U-23s arrived in Morocco on Sunday, and according to news reaching the national soccer governing body, Ferwafa, the team is ready for today's game.

Ferwafa's technical commissioner, Eugene Rukundo and Organising Committee Secretary, James Rekyeraho who led this Olympic team to Morocco, reported that some players who had been hit by fever had recovered.

The team coach Aloys Kanamugire (pictured right), met challenges in selecting the final squad to Morocco, but said before departure that he was certain the team would pull a good result in today's game.

Rwanda faces tricky Morocco, who beefed up their home based squad with a number of professionals from Europe. Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O), Jules Kalisa said yesterday that the U-23s will travel back home tonight connecting directly from Morocco aboard Rwandair Express plane. He said that this arrangement is to enable APR and Atraco players join their teams ahead of their respective continental engagements this weekend.

APR and Atraco play St. Eloi Lupopo of DR Congo and Prince Louis of Burundi, respectively in the MTN/Caf Champions' League and Confederation Cup.

Rwanda qualified to face Morocco after eliminating Sierra Leone 4-2 on aggregate last year. Rwanda and Morocco will be tussling it out to qualify for the group stages' round, where three pools will be created with only the winners advancing to Beijing next year.
